The Tigers were the first team to hit for the “natural cycle” in playoff history today during the sixth inning, which means they hit a single, double, triple, and home run in order. It was started out by Ryan Raburn, the double was a fluke hit over Adrian Beltre’s head because the ball Miguel Cabrera hit bounced off the third base bag, the triple was by a hobbled Victor Martinez, and the home run was by Delmon Young. Delmon Young, by the way, has more home runs in the postseason than he did in 83 games with the Twins this year.
Baseball is fun.
Yeah, but he’s no Nelson Cruz. This postseason is showing the whole country what I already figured out sometime last year–there is no scarier batter to see coming to the plate in the late innings than Nelson Cruz. He’s like David Ortiz circa 2003-2005. All he does is hit home runs in the eighth inning, ninth inning, extra innings.
