Daily Roundup, 05/21/12

The Yankees and Red Sox are tied for last place in the AL East.
- The Angels are also in last place.
– So are the Phillies.
— And these are the four highest payrolls in baseball.

The Reds hit back-to-back homers today.
- Normally that wouldn’t be that weird, but… it was the #9 and #1 hitters.
– So yes, one of them was a pitcher.

Chris Davis has more home runs than Albert Pujols
- and more wins than Cliff Lee and Ryan Dempster.

  1. Chad says:

Giancarlo Stanton’s grand slam, which knocked out the lights on the Marlins Park scoreboard, gives him home runs in five consecutive games vs. the Rockies.
    - According to Elias Sports Bureau, this ties him for the longest active streak against one team with Paul Konerko, who homered in his last five games against the Diamondbacks. Is it unpredictable that the longest active streak is held by a guy who only faces the team his streak is against maybe every third year?
