Daily Roundup, 06/04/12

The mighty combination of Dee Gordon and Elian Herrera combined to beat Jonathan Papelbon.
- This after the Phillies tied it up because Placido Polanco homered off Clayton Kershaw.

It’s the fourth inning and the Rangers/As score is 8-0.
- Of course, the As are winning.
– Brandon Inge has played seventeen games with the As, and he has four RBI in five of them. In 1408 games with the Tigers, he had ten games like that.
— Now, with this game over, there are some more updates that must be added: Jarrod Parker threw seven no-hit innings against Texas.
—- Craig Gentry pitched for Texas!

The Twins scored ten runs.
- They “only” have the third-worst record in baseball, at this point.

  1. Dave in VA says:

Down in AAA, playing for the ScrantonEmpire/Wilkes-State-Barre Yankees, is third string catcher by the name of R. J. Baker.
    - He pitched two innings of shutout ball, the 12th and 13th, to get the win over Norfolk.
    – Previously this season, he hadn’t made a single appearance.
    — He came in after not one, but *two* starting pitchers had come in on their throw day to pitch an inning.
—- He had a better line than either one of those guys.
—– The first starter-on-throw-day to come in from the bullpen blew a save in the 10th, thus making this entire comment possible.
