Daily Roundup, 06/11/12

Mondays with only four games are rough, y’all.

Adrian Gonzalez ended a 105-PA streak without a walk.
- That’s the longest streak by a qualifying batter in the majors this year.
– The Red Sox lost anyway.
— 2012 Heath Bell struck out the side against them, including David Ortiz
—- and Jarrod Saltalamacchia, who’s slugging .552.
—– This broke a six-game losing streak by Miami.
—— h/t @PatrickSull, there are four players on the Red Sox this year with OBPs over .350, with a minimum of just 1 PA. One is David Ortiz. The other three are Kelly Shoppach, Scott Podsednik, and Daniel Nava.

  1. NatsLady says:

Pitcher Win/Loss Department: Brandon Morrow (Toronto Blue Jays Ace). Throws nine pitches, gives up one hit, leaves game with oblique strain. Reliever (Beck, who had pitched exactly 1 ML inning prior) comes in and lets the inherited runner score. He and other relievers give up 5 more runs, so Nats win 6-3. You guessed it–Morrow gets the loss.

  2. Max says:

Ernesto Frieri faced 5 batters and struck out none of them. He still got the save.
