Jeremy Guthrie has now thrown 6.1 scoreless innings since losing his rotation spot.

Garrett Jones homered off Verlander.

Matt Cain had a very Matt Cain start–7 innings, one run, no decision.
-Derek Norris with the walk-off homer in just his third game.
–Kurt Suzuki has 227 PAs this year and has no homers.

Cliff Lee is still winless.
-He walked three tonight.
–His ERA is 3.72, worse than Shaun Marcum and Joe Saunders.
—Brandon Gomes drew a walk. He’s a reliever.
—-He’s the first AL reliever to draw a walk since Mariano Rivera in 2009.

Kevin Youkilis’ last plate appearance as a member of the Red Sox was a triple.
-It was his first triple of the season and 16th of his career.

Mike Fiers and Jose Quintana squared off in Chicago. The game went into extra innings with neither team scoring.
-Chicago won after a scoreless tenth inning from Brian Bruney.

The extremely highly touted CC Sabathia-RA Dickey matchup turned out to be a dud.
-Dickey allowed five runs in six innings, walked three, and struck out three.
–Sabathia failed to complete six innings for the first time all season and allowed five runs, though only one was earned.
—Sabathia walked Vinny Rottino on four pitches.
—-Derek Jeter went 0-5 against the Mets.

Jake Arrieta went 6 innings and only allowed one run.

Aroldis Chapman has allowed runs in five of his last seven outings.
