The Pirates-Dodgers game included the following:
– Clint Barmes tripling.
— Rod Barajas scoring from first on said triple.
—- A James Loney home run (no, really!)
—– And Matt Kemp losing his cool…while he was in the on deck circle.
—— The Pirates have won 18 of A.J. Burnett’s 22 starts this season.
Jason Bay, a former Pirate hit a home run.
– In 140+ at-bats this season, it’s only his 12th RBI!
— Matt Harvey threw just five pitches in the bottom of the seventh.
—- He still gave up a run.
—– It wasn’t a home run.
Cliff Lee struck out the side…and surrendered two home runs in the process.
Omar Vizquel pinch hit, two days after he pinch ran.
– Yes, he’s still playing baseball.
—- The White Sox hit five home runs tonight.
—— None of them was hit by Adam Dunn.
Dang, I was hoping at least you’d make note of tonight’s “immaculate inning”, since no one else seems to care about it. This is a rarity! It’s only the 47th time a pitcher has struck out the side on only 9 pitches, which is 14 fewer times than a pitcher has struck out 4 batters in an inning.
