Daily Roundup 10/28/12

Congratulations to the San Francisco Giants on their second World Series win in the last three years!

Ryan Theriot was the starting designated hitter.
- Phil Coke actually gave up a hit. This is after he became the first pitcher in MLB history to strike out seven consecutive batters in the World Series (via Elias and @espnstatsinfo).
– After being shut out two games in a row, the Tigers managed to score three runs.

Via @Espnstatsinfo, Marco Scutaro hit the first go-ahead RBI in extra innings by a Giants player in a World Series game since Dusty Rhodes, who did so in 1954.

Also from the above source, Jeremy Affeldt’s strike outs of Miguel Cabrera, Prince Fielder, and Delmon Young is just the second time all season he struck out three batters in same inning.

Ryan Theriot (the DH!) scored the winning run – driven in by Marco Scutaro.
