Daily Roundup, 08/24/13

Max Scherzer hit an RBI double.
- That double was against Matt Harvey, to boot.
– Scherzer now has as many RBIs as he has losses.
— Harvey gave up thirteen hits (but only two runs).
—- It wasn’t all bad for Harvey. Later in the game, he’d walk against Scherzer.
—– Scherzer didn’t have many issues with the Mets lineup, except for Ike Davis. Davis was 2-for-2 with a double and walk against Scherzer.
—— Jose Alvarez had an at-bat in this one too.
——- He is a relief pitcher – an AL relief pitcher.
——– The Tigers didn’t pinch-hit for any of their pitchers in today’s game.

From last night: the Cubs scored six runs in the first inning without recording an out.
- But they lost.
– To the Padres.

Ryan Flaherty home run.

Tied at 7-7, the D-Backs scored five runs in the 18th inning.
    – Off of outfielder Casper Wells
—- Who started the eighth by retiring the first two hitters he faced and then allowing six consecutive hitters to reach.
—— Infielder John McDonald then replaced Wells on the mound and gave up an RBI single to Trevor Cahill.
——– Cahill entered in the 15th and pitched four scoreless innings to get the win.

  2. Brian says:

** Wells started the 18th, not the 8th.

This site and the twitter seems to be repeat information that others have tweeted before. Honestly it looks kinda bad.
