Going into the bottom of the ninth, the Tigers trailed by six runs.
- They won in twelve.
– The last time the Tigers trailed by six in the ninth and won? 1947.
— Paul Konerko had an infield hit.

Padres pitcher Burch Smith got his first major league hit off of Clayton Kershaw (h/t @jessespector).
- Heading into today’s game vs the Padres, Kershaw had an ERA of 4.67 against them in 2013. He lowered it to 3.33, but that’s still more than two runs higher than his 1.88 ERA on the season.

A.J. Burnett walked. As a batter.
- It’s not his first walk of the year.

Collin Cowgill and Kurt Suzuki both homered!
