Daily Roundup 10/05/13

David Ortiz homered off of David Price.
- He homered off of Price twice.
– He had not hit a homer against Price in 37 regular-season at bats.
— Price allowed just two home runs to left handed batters all season.
—- Stephen Drew hit a triple to left field.
—– This isn’t that noteworthy except that he’s the first batter to do so in the postseason at Fenway Park since 1912—you know, the year the park opened.

Justin Verlander struck out 11 batters and did not allow a run.
- No pitcher in postseason history, as far as we can search, has struck out eleven batters, allowed no runs, and not won.
