Daily Roundup 05/24/14

The defending World Series-champion Red Sox have now lost nine games in a row. Only the Astros, Cubs, and Diamondbacks have a winning pct lower than the Red Sox .417.
- The Astros, who have the worst record in MLB, have not lost more than seven in a row (for comparison).
– The Red Sox actually had a 5-0 lead vs David Price after one; they failed to score the rest of the game.
— Price actually pitched eight innings despite the nine-batter first inning.
—- The Rays have won on three walk-offs in a row.
—– Tonight they lost on a walk-off throwing error by the pitcher (we’ve got the video below).
—— In a game that went 15 innings, the Red Sox were 1-3 with RISP.
——- A.J. Pierzynski walked.
——– Mike Carp batted cleanup.

Danny Worth pitched again.
- He’s now the second position player this season to have made more than one pitching appearance (Drew Butera is the other).

Rougned Odor hit two triples and a double.

Rougned Odor’s double was off of Danny Worth
    - Phil Coke was the only Tigers pitcher that did not allow a run today
    – Phil Coke still has a higher ERA than Danny Worth
    — After winning six games in a row in Baltimore and Boston (maybe not so YCPB considering Boston hasn’t won since), the Tigers have lost five of six
—- The Tigers have a better record on the road than at home (14-7 on the road, 14-10 at home)
—– The Tigers still have the best record in the American League despite losing five of six
