Make that ten losses in a row for the Red Sox.

Meanwhile, Josh Beckett no-hitter.
- Last year, Beckett pitched only 43.1 innings to a 5.19 ERA. He won on May 13, and it was his first win in over a year.

Another former Red Sox hurler, Daisuke Matsuzaka, didn’t throw a no-hitter. But he did throw six solid innings for the Mets today.
- Perhaps more notably, he also had an RBI single.

Justin Verlander did not pitch so well: 5.1 IP, 11 H, 9 R/6 ER, 3 BB, 1 K.

Derek Jeter triple.
- And Brian Roberts has more home runs than Robinson Cano.

Do you guys even pretend to watch the west coast games anymore?

  2. Brian says:

Not exactly YCPB material, but a semi-neat fact:

Since 2000, 55 teams have gone on losing streaks at least 10 games long. Twenty-nine of those teams finished in last place in their division, three ended above .500, and none of the 55 made the playoffs.

We all knew Adam Wainwright was good, but now he’s gone 20 2/3 innings and counting without allowing a run.
