- The Orioles completed a 4-game sweep of the Rangers at Arlington today, their first road series win of the year. Of course, the Rangers are good and Baltimore is not.
– The last time the Orioles organization had a four-game sweep on the road, it was – now, I know those are often kind of difficult to do, but seriously, brace yourself – 1995. Two of the winning pitchers were Mike Mussina and Jamie Moyer.
— The games from today and yesterday were also the first time Orioles SPs took a win in back-to-back games since May 6 and 8.

- The Padres’ Scott Hairston had his second career 4+-hit game today, and his first since 2004.
- The Phillies beat the Reds today, 1-0 for the second game in a row. That’s the first time the Phillies have had back-to-back 1-0 wins since 1913. By beating the Reds, the Phillies completed their first four-game sweep of the Reds since 1975. Uh, you may have heard the Reds were kinda good that year…
- The Padres scored nine runs.
- The White Sox hit five home runs. They’re also the leaders in the AL Central at the break. At the beginning of June, who saw that coming?
- The Dodgers’ Vicente Padilla had a no-hitter through five. I know it’s just five innings but Vicente Padilla, seriously?
- The Pirates have gone over 1000 at-bats without a multi-run homer.
- The Twins’ Carl Pavano has ten wins at the All-Star Break. In four years with the Yankees, he had nine total wins. As a Yankee fan, I have to laugh at this, or else I’d cry.
- Chris Young, Kelly Johnson, and Justin Upton combined to go six-for-ten… and the Diamondbacks scored no runs.
