Daily Roundup 08/05/14

The Indians had an awkward moment tonight, when two baseballs were on the field at the same time:

Adam Dunn pitched!
– Dunn is the third player to start at DH and later pitch.
– The MLB-worst Rangers beat the White Sox 16-0. Colby Lewis pitched a CGSO.
— Robinson Chirinos hit two home runs.

Andrew Romine hit a home run.
- And Victor Martinez stole a base.
– Martinez is now up to three on the year; he’s never had more than one in a season before.
— The game went 12 innings; no one walked.

The Cubs had a three-run seventh inning in which they batted around.
- They did not have a hit.

Nori Aoki hit a grand slam.

    V-Mart also had an infield single today, as well, so it was extra-YCPB night for him.

    Joakim Soria got the win while pitching a 1-2-3 inning
    - The Tigers bullpen didn’t allow a hit or a run.
    – There were three HBPs in the game, all of them in the ninth inning or later.
    — Alex Avila HR
    —- Joe Nathan 1-2-3 inning

    After his SB, Martinez was immediately pulled for a PR
    -The PR was Don Kelly, who was 4 SB on the season
